| The Arctic Man Challenge: WOAS heads to Summit Lake in the Alaskan wilderness for this one of a kind competition that pits world class skiers and snowboarders against each with one catch. Competitors will soar from a 1,700-foot drop to be picked up at the bottom, by a rapidly speeding snowmobile which will tow them 2 1/4 miles up a canyon at speeds approaching 90 mph before whipping them over a second huge summit into a 1,000-foot plus descent to the finish line. The Arctic Man is not a typical ski/snowboard competition by any standard! John Woodbury / COAST magazine |
| Red Bull Panama Surf Expedition: Julian Wilson, Ian Walsh and Jamie O’Brien stormed the region to explore the untapped potential of the 200-plus islands of Panama’s Caribbean archipelago. The trip was timed perfectly with a solid February swell. The surfers had 13-time Panamanian national champ Gary Saavedra, the godfather of Panama’s surf community, on board and a flotilla of speed boats to get them to the right spot at the right time. No matter how much you travel, how much you have the world dialed, any new adventure will teach you something Web: www.redbullsurfing.com |
