Episode features surfing, speedflying, snowboarding and skiing

   

PORTLAND, Maine, April 24, 2008--Jeep® World of Adventure Sports® (JWOAS), an action and adventure sports series, will air on Saturday, April 26 at 2 p.m. ET/11 a.m. PT.  Host Pat Parnell of NBC Sports travels to the North Shore of Hawaii to present the third episode of the 2008 season.

The next episode will feature:

·          The Columbia Speed Flying Pro: Speedflying, a new winter flying sport originally invented by paraglider pilots and skydivers looking to test the limits between skiing and gliding, is quickly catching on all over the world.   Watch as the world s best compete in this amazing competition in Les Arcs, France.  This segment is a memoriam to the late Mathias Roten - world renowned speed flyer who lost his life in a tragic accident shortly after filming.

·          Buffalo Big Board Classic: Since 1977, legendary waterman Buffalo Keaulana has been hosting his namesake surf competition, the Buffalo Big Board Classic at Makaha Beach, Hawaii.  JWOAS joins some of the sport s greatest elders and some of the best current pros to witness the 30th anniversary of this timeless and enduring event. 

·          Red Bull Inside Tahiti : The thrill of surfing one of the most beautiful and dangerous waves in the world is now a step closer as Red Bull pioneers the use of breakthrough 360-degree video technology. JWOAS tags along with Laird Hamilton, Ian Walsh, Jamie O Brien and Jamie Sterling as they come from all corners of the Earth to strap on 25 pounds of gear in order to capture the extraordinary experience of surfing Teahupooo in Tahiti.

·          IBA Pipeline Pro Bodyboarding Championships: Watch as some of the best bodyboarders gather in Hawaii for the opening event of the International Bodyboarding Association's 2008 world tour. 

·          TGR Behind the Scenes : In the 14 years that Teton Gravity Research has been in the action sports industry, the TGR crew has gone where very few film crews in the world have gone before.  JWOAS heads behind the scenes into the cutting edge productions where some of the most dangerous work conditions in the world are just an everyday part of getting the shot .
