NBC JEEP® WORLD OF ADVENTURE SPORTS HEADS TO THE INFAMOUS BULLFIGHTING RINGS OF MEXICO AND SPAIN FOR THE ULTIMATE BATTLE OF MOTOCROSS
October 1 show features a 1.5 hour episode of motocross, snowboarding, adventure racing, surfing, and sailing
PORTLAND, Maine, Sept 15, 2005 NBC's Jeep® World of Adventure Sports (JWOAS), an action and adventure sports series, will air its next episode on Saturday, October 1 at 2:30 p.m. Eastern Time. Hosted by Pat Parnell of NBC Sports, the program will features an array of outstanding action and adventure sports events.
The next episode includes:
- Red Bull X-Fighters, two international freestyle motocross competitions held in the historic bullfighting arenas of Mexico City and Madrid. American riders Nate Adams, Ronnie Renner, Jeremy Twitch Stenberg, and Kenny Bartram take on an international all-star field by showcasing heart-stopping, aerial acrobatics for over 65,000 screaming fans.
- A profile of Victoria Jealouse, the world s preeminent big mountain rider. Jealouse, a native mountain girl, has accomplished more feats in the mountains than any other female skier or snowboarder. Her unbridled talent will be featured in TGR s newest and most progressive film The Tangerine Dream .
- The Raid World Championship, the world s most elite international adventure race. Forty teams from around the globe will compete in a 5-6 day non-stop race covering more than 600km throughout the French, Italian, and Swiss Alps. Raiders use their technical skills to conquer Mt. Blanc, the highest mountain in Western Europe.
- Surfing star Ross Clarke-Jones attempting the legendary "Pororoca , the Giant Wave which flows up stream the Amazon. Clarke-Jones and other prominent surfers traveled to the Rainforest in north-east Brazil to wait for the wave many call the Monster , Killer , or Pororoca , the Native Indian description meaning great enourmous noise .
- The Oryx Quest 2005, a non-stop round the world sailing race where the world's largest and fastest sailing machines battle to circumnavigate the globe in 50 days.
- TGR riders Skogen Sprang, Marc Andre Belliveau, Jamie Pierre and Micah Black exploring the deepest and lightest snow of the season in the historic ski villages of Switzerland.
