NBC JEEP® WORLD OF ADVENTURE SPORTS® LAUNCHES A GREEN INITIATIVE IN THE NOVEMBER 15th EPISODE

Episode features world record attempts, cycling, snowboarding and kayaking

PORTLAND, Maine, November  12th, 2008—The Jeep® World of Adventure Sports® (JWOAS), an action and adventure sports series, will air on Saturday, November 15th at 2:30 p.m. ET/11:30 a.m. PT.  Host Pat Parnell of NBC Sports travels to Boulder, Colorado to present the ninth episode of the 2008 season.  This final episode of the 2008 season marks the debut of the Jeep World of Adventure Sports “Green” initiative.  Segments dedicated to raising awareness for the issues affecting our environment globally will continue to air throughout the 2009 season.

 The next episode will feature: 

·     Protect Our Winters:  JWOAS catches up with Protect Our Winters founder, snowboarder Jeremy Jones, as he shares his philosophy about uniting the winter sports community to help change consumer habits, dedicate funds towards renewable energy and ultimately save the slopes for people to enjoy for years to come.

·     Steve Fisher Expedition: Kayak legends and Red Bull athletes Steve Fisher and Ben Brown journey to Zambia to conquer the infamous Zambezi, Kaombe, and Kalungwishi rivers. On the way they mingle with locals and tackle some of the most spectacular waterfalls that divide Zambia and Zimbabwe. 

·     Tour of Missouri:  We catch up with the #1 ranking cycling team in the nation, Team Garmin, as they race to victory in this epic challenge spanning seven days and thought by many to be one of the top ranking competitions in North America.

·     Red Bull Project with Simon Dumont: JWOAS follows along with legendary freestyle skier Simon Dumont as he returns to his hometown of Bethel, Maine and Sunday River Resort with one objective only: to break the world record for highest air on a quarterpipe.

·     Teton Gravity Research “Under the Influence”: TGR's latest film, Under the Influence, explores the people, places and moments that influence snowsports.  Follow the TGR crew behind the scenes as they implement new production techniques to capture powder shredding in the Jackson Hole backcounty, first descents outside Haines, Alaska, and an aerial spectacular at Wyoming's own Grand Targhee.
