TUNE IN OCTOBER 16 FOR EXTREME LAND TO SEA ACTION ON NBC JEEP® WORLD OF ADVENTURE SPORTS
New episode takes to the water in pursuit of some of the planet's most radical kiteboarding and surfing, then gains altitude to cover mountain bike action from Crankworx and the Jeep® King of the Mountain competition
PORTLAND, Maine, September 21, 2004 NBC's Jeep® World of Adventure Sports, a new action-adventure sports series, will air its fourth episode on Saturday, October 16 at 2 p.m. Eastern Time.
Hosted by Pat Parnell of NBC Sports, this newest episode will feature
an hour of action and adventure segments:
- Join the Teton Gravity Research team for a virtual surf road trip along
South Africa's fabled coastline. From Cape Town to J-Bay, get an insider's
look at some of the most progressive surfing and premier waves on any
continent.
- Meet the everyday heroes of surf rescue in Hawaii. Spawned in the waters
of Waimea Bay and Hawaii's North Shore more than two decades ago, these surf
rescue legends are now a standard fixture at any surf contest or film
production taking place in or around Pacific waters.
- Take a wild adventure with an elite group of storm-chasing kiteboarders as
they chase down big winds and extreme swells around the world.
- Catch some of the world's best athletes on two wheels at the Crankworx
competition at Whistler mountain in British Columbia. Meet the pioneers of
this new mountain biking discipline and see how they stack up at the most
progressive event in North America.
- Follow the Jeep® King of the Mountain competition as it travels to Austin,
Texas to test the mettle of top international male and female mountain bikers
as they compete for the richest prize purse in the sport.
