NBC JEEP® WORLD OF ADVENTURE SPORTS CONCLUDES FIRST SEASON WITH DECEMBER 19TH EPISODE

Program covers exhilarating team and individual extreme-sports challenges from across the globe

PORTLAND, Maine, November 23, 2004NBC's Jeep® World of Adventure Sports, will conclude its first season with the broadcast of its sixth episode on Saturday, Dec. 19 at 3 p.m. EST. Hosted by Pat Parnell of NBC Sports, this new episode will feature an hour of action and adventure segments:

  • Keep pace with 30 teams participating in the Raid World Championships in Argentina. Spanning five to seven days of non-stop action in the Andes, one of the toughest mountain ranges in the world, these racers test their navigation and endurance skills for the title of Raid World Champion.
  • Teton Gravity Research ventures deep into the interior of British Columbia as athletes descend into the steep and deep but find that the passion for powder quickly fades into survival against human triggered avalanches.
  • Solo sailing legend Ellen MacArthur takes you aboard the B&Q Trimaran as she pits her skill and courage against the high seas in an attempt to break the Trans-Atlantic record.
  • The beauty of Malibu serves as the backdrop for the 18th annual Nautica Malibu Triathlon, which brings together athletes from across the world to raise money for the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation.
