Tune in to NBC's Jeep® World of Adventure Sports on Saturday, October 16 at 2 pm EST for the special Surf and Turf episode:

SURF (Surf rescue Hawaii, Kiteboard storm chasers, and Surfing South Africa)

Surf Rescue — Hawaiian Water Patrol: Jeep® World of Adventure Sports introduces us to the everyday heroes of Hawaii's monster surf. The Hawaiian Water Patrol got its start on the North Shore of Oahu in the '80s saving lives of surfers in surf competitions. Now they provide jet ski rescue-craft training, water patrol at surfing and beach events, and safety for the cast and crew of film productions like Waterworld and Point Break. Find out what it's like to be on jet ski rescue sleds with the surfers who make up this dynamic group of local heroes.

Kiteboard Storm Chasers: A couple years ago, the primary goal of kiteboarders—who skim across the water on a modified surf board propelled by a paraglider wing—was simply to master the fledgling sport. Then some of them started getting good enough to get big air and surf big waves. Now the goal of kiteboarders like Slingshot-sponsored Jeff Tobias and Ben Wilson is to do things no one else has done before. That means chasing storms and swell from West Australia to Peru to Bali and using the kite as a tow-in device to get on waves that regular surfers need a jet ski to access. "They ask, what can we take on that's bigger than anyone's ever done before?" says Slingshot's Tonia Farman. The answer can be seen in this footage brought to you by Jeep® World of Adventure Sports.

TURF (Crankworx free-ride mountain biking event at Whistler, B.C., Jeep King of Mountain bike competition in Texas)

Crankworx: Watch as the emerging sport of free-ride mountain biking reaches new heights (literally) on Vancouver's North Shore. In July 2004, the world's best free-ride mountain bike athletes competed for $30,000 in cash and prizes on the slopes and courses of Whistler, B.C. Considered the epicenter of the free-ride mountain bike scene, Whistler featured a custom-designed expression session park with aerial teeter-totters and the longest downhill course in the world, dropping a total of 3,400 vertical feet. Meet the best athletes in the sport as they tackle a variety of downhill trails featuring jumps and rollers that provide both the riders and spectators with new meaning to the term "massive air."

Jeep® King of the Mountain: Known for the mountain bike course that "only a crash test dummy could love," Jeep® King of the Mountain's famed Y format pitches dueling competitors down parallel dual-slalom tracks that converge midway through the course. We follow top international female and male bikers to Austin, Texas where they compete for the title of Series Champion, plus $100,000 in prize money and the keys to a 2005 Jeep® Wrangler Unlimited.

Red Bull King of the Air: This year, we follow one of the legendary kiters, Robby Naish as he demonstrates his mastery of wind and water at Red Bull's King of the Air event at Ho'okipa Beach, Hawaii. BIG AIR is the primary focus as athletes concentrate on pulling off spectacular moves, landing clean and using big waves as a natural ramp to glide through the air. Maui is considered to be the birthplace of kiteboarding and windsuring and has been quintessential to the popularity and growth of both. There are few sports that rival the height and flight time of kiteboarding as athletes reach 40-60 feet in the air and fly more than 100 feet in distance. Hundreds flock to this "Wind Mecca" every year to experience the side-shore trade winds, warm water and designated kiteboarding areas that the North Shore has to offer. Come along to meet the international field of athletes as they race after the prestigious "Red Bull King of the Air" title and a piece of the $26,000 prize.
